PRIVATE PAY

Individuals

60-minute session is $150.00

90-minute session is $200.00

While private pay can be more expensive, some prefer not being restricted by insurance companies. It also allows for more privacy, as diagnoses and types of treatment are not shared outside of our working relationship. There is more flexibility for session length and number of sessions. If you are paying out of network, you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE IN THERAPY?

My style is collaborative and we will work together to develop a treatment plan designed to help you reach your goals. During your first session, I will aim to understand what you’re struggling with. I will likely inquire about some of your past (family history, traumatic experiences) and how your symptoms or feelings are manifesting today, and how long they have been showing up. Depending on your individualized treatment plan, we may reduce stress and anxiety, improve performance and problem solving, developing or strengthening coping strategies, develop and expand consciousness awareness, transform old patterns of thinking and feeling, integrate the mind, body, and Spirit connection, and feel better about yourself!

WHAT TYPE OF THERAPY DO YOU PRACTICE?

I practice a holistic, integrative, whole self approach to therapy. A whole systems approach (I.e. mind-body methods) is required to expand conscious awareness in ways that support progressive integration and transformation. We will engage body, mind, emotions, and spirit in a journey of healing, integration, transformation, and spiritual awakening. Specifically, I utilize Emotional Freedom Techniques/ tapping, Inner Counselor Process, Internal Family Systems, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, yoga, Reiki, meditation, and sand tray modalities.

HOW DO YOU USE YOGA IN THERAPY?

I am passionate about sharing the practice of yoga in a therapeutic relationship, as I have found the practice helpful when coping with my own symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression. It does not replace traditional psychotherapy methods but it can complement treatment by bringing calmness during a session which can enhance the therapeutic outcome. Yoga is more than just the physical (asana) practice. It also incorporates pranayama (breathwork) and japa (mantra/meditation). If appropriate, and you are comfortable incorporating these into therapy, I can help guide you through breathing exercises, meditations, and gentle movements. The theoretical basis of these techniques is that they can reduce symptoms of anxiety or panic attacks and help people move through traumatic experiences by becoming more in tune with their bodies. I believe that practicing yoga daily can dramatically change your life by bringing you calmness and peace. Not only can it offer physical benefits, but the practice can empower you to find your inner resilience to work through life's ups and downs.

DO YOU OFFER IN-PERSON OR VIRTUAL SESSIONS?

I offer both in-person and virtual sessions. In-person sessions are held in at Yoga on State in Carlsbad Village. Availability for in-person appointments is limited and I request that you try to be flexible with scheduling if you prefer in-person. Telehealth is offered through HIPPA-compliant Zoom sessions for residents of the state of California.

WHAT SESSION LENGTH SHOULD I CHOOSE AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD I ATTEND?

Generally, sessions are between 50 and 60 minutes depending on your unique needs and treatment plan. If you are paying privately, I also offer an option for 90-minute sessions. I recommend the first 10-12 sessions be on a weekly basis depending on the severity of your needs and symptoms. For some, sessions twice weekly may be needed if you experience significant risk for self-harm. We can work together to set a cadence on what feels right for you.

IS THERE BETWEEN SESSION SUPPORT?

I welcome you to reach out when you feel like you can’t cope with something and can engage in brief text messages or phone calls which I include in your weekly session costs. I can also schedule an extra appointment if the conversation will be more than 10 minutes. I want to support you in the best way possible. If you are experiencing an emergency and are unable to get in touch with me, please use this list of crisis numbers or dial 9-1-1.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. I allow you one opportunity to cancel within the 24 hour window. A late cancellation fee of $75.00 will become effective thereafter. The session is considered a no-show 15 minutes after the agreed-upon start time and will be canceled. A full session fee will be applied for any no-show appointments. Please keep in mind that multiple no-shows or cancellations interfere with the therapeutic process.

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT USING MY INSURANCE?

I've partnered with Alma to help me run my private practice. The Alma team will confirm your insurance eligibility and provide you with an estimate of your payment responsibility with 48 hours. As my client, you’ll receive appointment confirmation emails and invoices from Alma, and their team may also reach out with policy updates. You will have the option to enroll in Auto Pay through Alma. With Auto Pay, you'll be billed after each session according to what your insurance plan indicates that you owe. Alma does not currently accept payments from third-party payment systems such as InstaMed.
